Studying villa gardens or better outdoor living spaces, requires a specific study of both the building g’s architectural morphology and the character of the existing surrounding landscape so as, what emerges after the landscape architectural design, to be a harmonious whole of landscape and architecture. Additioanally, according to HRLA point of view regarding the landscape design, in the large plots the house is part of the overall landscape and for that reason its integration into the whole plot requires difficult design manipulations.

In this particular villa the total property was 3 acres in Panorama, Thessaloniki and the villa itself covers a surface of 300 sqmeters, meaning that HRLA studio’s theory must be applied. With the total landscape design of the plot, executed by HRLA, the free spaces close to the house, improved and help the insideout and the outside-in function be realized, together with the aesthetical display of the dipole, residence and garden.

The comprehensive landscape design for this villa acquires this direct relationship inside – outside with the very long staircases connecting the indoors kitchen with the pool and the BBQ in the upper level, and in the basement with the direct connection of the every day lounge located there with the back garden. Thus front and back yard with different usage and aesthetic directions, are created. Paving materials, illumination and planting were dominated for the aesthetic appearance of this house and its garden.
