In 2007, Landscape–Roidis Studio was commissioned to undertake the complete landscape design for a private estate in Kapandriti, Attica. Set on a 20,000 m² sloping site, the project involved the comprehensive design of both hardscape and planting elements, creating a cohesive environment that integrates architecture, landscape, and topography.
The design approach was guided by the site’s natural terrain, organizing a series of interconnected outdoor spaces that support both everyday living and recreational activities. Key components of the masterplan included a private chapel positioned at the lowest level of the property, a tennis court, swimming pool, outdoor BBQ areas, and a productive vegetable garden.
A carefully coordinated circulation network of vehicular and pedestrian routes was developed to ensure seamless movement throughout the estate while responding sensitively to the site’s changing elevations. Retaining structures, paving systems, entrance gates, and outdoor gathering areas were designed as integral elements of the overall landscape composition, balancing functionality with visual continuity.
The planting strategy combined ornamental and Mediterranean-adapted species to establish a mature landscape identity, while a fully integrated irrigation system ensured the long-term sustainability of the gardens. A comprehensive lighting design further enhanced the property’s character after sunset, emphasizing architectural features, circulation routes, and key landscape elements.
Completed in 2008, the project demonstrates Landscape–Roidis Studio’s holistic approach to residential landscape design, where architecture, topography, planting, and outdoor living are carefully orchestrated to create a unified and enduring environment.
