Landscape–Roidis Studio was commissioned to design the landscape for the Gavriloglou wedding reception venue in Markopoulo, creating an outdoor environment that enhances the experience of celebration through a carefully orchestrated relationship between landscape, architecture, and atmosphere.
The design focuses on establishing a welcoming and elegant setting capable of accommodating both large-scale events and more intimate gatherings. A clear spatial organization guides visitors through the venue, while a network of pathways, gathering areas, and planted spaces creates a seamless and comfortable experience throughout the site.
Planting plays a central role in shaping the character of the venue, providing seasonal interest, visual depth, and a sense of enclosure without compromising openness and flexibility. Carefully selected vegetation softens the built elements and contributes to a refined Mediterranean landscape identity.
A comprehensive lighting design enhances the venue after sunset, highlighting key architectural features, circulation routes, and landscape elements while creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The interplay of light, planting, and open space transforms the venue into a memorable setting for social events and celebrations.
The result is a cohesive landscape composition that balances functionality, elegance, and atmosphere, reinforcing the unique identity of the Gavriloglou venue and enriching the overall guest experience.
