Commissioned by the client to enhance the outdoor environment of a hospitality property in Sithonia, Chalkidiki, Landscape–Roidis Studio developed the design of a new swimming pool and its surrounding landscape, creating a contemporary leisure space carefully integrated within the site's existing natural character.

The design challenge centered on preserving and celebrating a mature grove of eucalyptus trees that had long defined the identity of the property. Rather than imposing a new intervention onto the landscape, the proposal was conceived as a sensitive insertion that responds to the existing vegetation, allowing the pool to emerge organically within its established setting.

The geometry and positioning of the pool were carefully calibrated to respect the root zones, canopy structure, and spatial rhythm of the trees, ensuring that the landscape remained the primary visual protagonist. Outdoor areas surrounding the water were organized to provide spaces for relaxation while maintaining uninterrupted views through the eucalyptus grove and reinforcing a strong connection to the natural environment.

Material selections and landscape elements were chosen to complement the textures, colors, and atmosphere of the site, creating a refined hospitality experience that feels both contemporary and deeply rooted in place. The resulting composition balances built intervention and natural landscape, enhancing the character of the property while preserving the qualities that make the setting unique.

Completed in 2025, the project demonstrates how thoughtful landscape design can transform a recreational amenity into an integral component of the broader landscape, creating an immersive outdoor environment where architecture, water, and mature vegetation coexist in harmony.
