Landscape–Roidis Studio developed the complete landscape design for Ioli Village Hotel, a hospitality complex located in the heart of Pefkochori, one of Chalkidiki’s most vibrant seaside destinations. Occupying a gently sloping 9,000 m² site, the project sought to create a cohesive outdoor environment that enhances the guest experience through landscape, planting, and recreation.
The design concept focused on establishing a tranquil garden setting that balances privacy, comfort, and visual richness. A carefully structured network of pedestrian routes connects the various hotel facilities, weaving through landscaped gardens characterized by native Mediterranean vegetation, aromatic planting, seasonal color, and generous lawn areas.
A defining element of the masterplan was the strategic placement of the main swimming pool at the northern edge of the property, separated from the primary accommodation buildings. This decision created a dedicated recreational destination within the resort, offering guests a more secluded and relaxed environment while reinforcing the spatial organization of the site.
Planting was selected to reflect the character of the Chalkidiki landscape, combining ornamental and native species to provide year-round interest, shade, and sensory qualities. Seating areas and garden spaces were integrated throughout the property, encouraging outdoor living and informal social interaction.
In 2011, Landscape–Roidis Studio undertook the redesign of the pool surroundings, upgrading the recreational zone with a more contemporary landscape language and enhancing its visual identity within the hotel grounds.
The result is a welcoming garden environment that introduces a sense of greenery and openness, transforming the outdoor spaces into an integral part of the hotel experience.
