Located in Pefkohori, Chalkidiki, this private residential project involved the comprehensive renovation of an existing residence and the complete redesign of its 4,000 m² landscape setting. Commissioned by a private client, Landscape–Roidis Studio developed an integrated architectural and landscape strategy that responds to the site’s sloping topography while strengthening the relationship between the house and its outdoor environment.
The intervention encompassed both architectural and landscape design, including the renovation of the interior spaces, the redesign of the building façades, and the creation of a cohesive outdoor living environment tailored to contemporary Mediterranean living. A new swimming pool forms the focal point of the garden, while a carefully organized network of retaining walls, pedestrian paths, and vehicular routes negotiates the site’s level changes and enhances accessibility throughout the property.
Outdoor amenities were conceived as extensions of the residence, incorporating pergolas, a barbecue area, seating spaces, and a productive vegetable garden. The material palette, paving design, and planting strategy were carefully coordinated to create a unified spatial experience, balancing functionality with a strong sense of place.
The project also included the design of the entrance sequence, irrigation infrastructure, and a comprehensive lighting scheme that enriches the landscape after sunset and highlights key architectural and garden features. Through the integration of architecture, landscape, and environmental systems, the project transforms the property into a cohesive residential retreat where built form and natural terrain operate as a single, interconnected composition.
