Housing estate in Panorama

Housing Estate In panorama

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Landscape Roidis Studio was commissioned to design the complete landscape for a residential development in Panorama, on the outskirts of Thessaloniki. The project comprises twelve independent residences arranged across an 8,000 m² hillside site, where natural gradients of up to 15% offer panoramic views of the city and the Thermaic Gulf.

The landscape strategy was guided by a sensitive approach to the existing topography, preserving the site’s natural landform while minimizing earthworks and visual impact. Carefully positioned retaining walls were introduced only where required to accommodate circulation, parking areas, and private gardens, allowing the built environment to integrate seamlessly with the terrain.

The outdoor spaces were conceived as a series of interconnected residential landscapes that balance privacy with openness, creating a harmonious relationship between architecture, gardens, and the surrounding environment. A planting strategy based on native and climate-adapted Mediterranean species reinforces the ecological character of the site while ensuring long-term resilience and low maintenance. The carefully composed vegetation softens the architectural intervention, frames views, and enhances the seasonal character of the development.

The result is a cohesive residential landscape that responds to its hillside setting with restraint and clarity, offering residents a contemporary living environment deeply connected to the natural qualities of Panorama.
