Paralia Reception Area, Thessaloniki

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Paralia Event Place is envisioned as a contemporary seaside destination where landscape, architecture, and hospitality converge to create a distinctive setting for memorable events. Located on the waterfront near Thessaloniki, the project combines open-air gathering spaces, Mediterranean gardens, and a transparent-roofed greenhouse pavilion, offering a flexible environment for weddings, private celebrations, and corporate functions.

The design is guided by the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor experiences. Views towards the sea, natural daylight, and carefully composed planting schemes shape the atmosphere of the venue, while its proximity to both the city center and the airport ensures exceptional accessibility.

The architectural expression is intentionally restrained, allowing the surrounding landscape to remain the dominant feature. A simple yet elegant volume clad in natural timber blends harmoniously with the coastal setting, drawing inspiration from the modest wooden structures traditionally used by local fishermen. The building becomes an unobtrusive backdrop to the landscape rather than an isolated object.

Natural materials, including wood and stone, are combined with Mediterranean planting and native vegetation to create a rich garden environment that unfolds throughout the site. Shaded pathways, outdoor terraces, and planted gathering spaces establish a sequence of experiences that connect architecture with the surrounding seascape.

Rather than functioning as a conventional event venue, Paralia Event Place is conceived as a destination in its own right—a landscape-driven setting where architecture, nature, and social life come together to provide a unique identity for every occasion.
