Haris Roidis

Haris Roidis, founded the Office of “Landscape-Roidis” in 1980 and has dedicated his career to expand the boundaries of the landscape architecture profession in Greece by creating magnificent landscapes. He is co-founder of PHALA (Panhellenic Association of Landscape Architects), served the association as general secretary from 1985 up to December 1992 and from December 1992 up to May 1996 as President of PHALA.

Since January 2000 a branch office of the firm operating in Athens. “Landscape –Roidis” design services, cover the whole of the Greek territory plus Cyprus, Romania and Albania.

Educated at the University of Thessaloniki, Greece where he obtained a degree in Agriculture, and at the Edinburgh University, Scotland where he obtained diploma and MPhil degree in Landscape Architecture. Roidis has designed hundreds of projects, written and served as an advisor to numerous public and private agencies. The scope of his concerns is expansive—from master planning to the design of small gardens —with a particular emphasis on tourist resorts, seaside promenades, plazas, thematic gardens, housing estate gardens, landscape mitigation for motorways, and urban-regeneration projects.

He uses predominantly native plants and materials in his designs, respects the local architecture and the surrounding landscape and equally designs hard and soft landscape in accordance with the social involvement produces dynamic and picturesque landscapes.
