Panhellenic Architecture Competition for the redesign of former lignite mining areas in Western Macedonia

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Conceptual proposal for the whole area of 188,8 hectares of former coal mining areas in order to develop a master plan which will impress and increase the public visitation and involvement . The predominant design idea was to create utilitarian modules (functional-thematic spaces) that will operate either independently or in total. These functional spaces will be sited in all the non-tree areas both in the mitigated restored and not disturbed areas.
